Girls Inc. members reach out into their communities through several outreach initiatives in the after school program. Check with us for scheduled activity dates, and pick up a permission form for any of these great programs!
The Grandparent Program
Girls enrolled in The Grandparent Program visit the residents of the Horn Home, River Valley House and Town and Country Health Care Center. The girls and residents become acquainted, play games, make crafts, sing, and generally have a great time together! The program is offered once or twice per week.
Girls write letters to members in other Girls Inc. affiliates or to friends at some of our Grandparent Program sites.
Reaching Out is a program for girls ages ten and older who want to help run children’s activities in a local family shelter or day care center, such as House of Hope and Children’s Village. There the girls facilitate activities for the younger children – great experience for future babysitters and for girls who want to make a positive difference in their community!
